Established in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-specific extension is really popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for constructing imaginative and catchy domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to have an easy-to-learn domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to share it with coworkers and fellows. The TLD can also be used for a website, which is linked to the technology sector having in mind that IT is an abbreviation, which is recognized worldwide.

Since dot IT domains are not sold directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that administers this domain extension, such a domain can be bought through a third-party service provider, such as ours. As there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of various regions and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any kind are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion.
